American Idol (Season 7): Top 11 Performance Night

IdolIt just shows that The Beatles is really phenomenal… Another week of performance from The Beatles’ song book.

Anyway, I just like to remind anyone who reads this that this is my opinion based on the performances I saw on TV. Tonight is the performance night of the remaining 11 contestants of American Idol for this season. And now, my opinions…

Amanda Overmyer sang “Back In The U.S.S.R.”. Actually, I am looking for something new from Amanda. Yah, she is good but just like what Simon said, her performances are becoming predictable. So I think she should do something new soon.

Brooke White sang “Here Comes The Sun”. It’s one of the songs that I like from The Beatles. I like Brooke but I did not like her performance tonight. I know Brooke as someone who sings from her heart, and I did not see it in her tonight.

Carly Smithson sang “Blackbird”. I did not pay attention to her performance. I like her “Come Together” performance more.

Chikezie Eze sang “I’ve Just Seen A Face”. I like the arrangement of the song - from slow to fast. Interesting.

David Archuleta sang “The Long And Winding Road”. I am sorry to the many fans of David Archuleta but I did not like it. :)

David Cook sang “Day Tripper”. I do not know this song but still, I watch David Cook’s performance because I know he can make a good version of it. And I wasn’t wrong, I like his performance tonight, but I like his performance last week more.

Jason Castro sang “Michelle”, and I did not like it.

Kristy Lee Cook sang “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away”. I like the son actually but I did not like how Kristy interpreted the song.

Michael Johns sang “A Day In The Life”. I still can’t avoid comparing him to David Cook. Unfortunately, I like David Cook more. I think Michael needs some energy so that he’ll be noticed more.

Ramiele Malubay sang “I Should’ve Known Better”. I like it. But I still suggest for her to pick the correct song for her so that she can show the people that she really can sing. And more energy Ramiele.

Syesha Mercado sang “Yesterday”. The judges like it. I think she is good but I don’t like watching her. As I mentioned before, the “divas” would usually win in a singing contest. It’s somehow tiring that’s why we want someone who can offer something new to the public.

Okay, my top 3 for tonight: Ramiele, Chickezie, and David Cook. My bottom 3: Kristy, Jason, and Carly.
