The Hardworking Men & Women

Rowjiefully YoursI get impressed and inspired when I read or hear success stories of hardworking people, especially when their stories are the “rags to riches” ones. I don’t consider myself as the very hardworking type of person because I can be so lazy most of the time. I feel guilty for the time and opportunites I wasted before because of those stories, but they also give me hope that it’s not yet too late to change.

Yah, some hardworking people already got the fruits of their labor - money or any other material things. But let’s try to look at the people around us… There are a lot of hardworking men and women who do not get what they deserve.

Whenever I eat alone in a fast food chain, I will always try to look at the people working there. I know that some of them are working students. Some of them might have not finished their studies due to financial problems, and they have to work there to be able to help or support their families.

I also feel pity for those people who have to work even on holidays. I know that most of them don’t have to work on holidays, but they have to.

And how much do these hard working men and women earn monthly??? Minimum wage.

Let us try to compare the efforts of these people with the efforts of those who earn a higher salary. Yup, they might be both working hard. But on getting paid for their work, do you think it is still fair?

Is the school where you graduated really important? It may be true for some companies. But studying in some of the well known schools here in the Philippines requires a big amount of money. Life in the Philippines is not getting easier. It is a fact that many can’t afford to enter in some of the good schools here in the Philippines.

But how about those people who are intelligent and hard working who can’t afford to study? When will they be given a chance?

Rowjiefully Yours
