She became a symbol of democracy.

I may not be aware that she held the biggest responsibility in our country during my childhood days but I have read so many good things about her during my elementary days. She became a symbol of democracy. She made many Filipinos proud. The color yellow was associated with her.

Last year, I was greatly affected when I heard the news that the former president has been diagnosed with colon cancer. I was riding in a bus when I heard it and that thought has been on my mind until I arrived home. Every Filipino wished her a fast recovery. We all want to see her on TV strong.

She showed courage as she battles the fight against cancer, just like how she did during the first EDSA Revolution. I feel sad when I hear or watch on news that her condition worsens, as I know everybody feels. Recently, many people have tied yellow ribbon in many places showing their support and love for the former president. With this, I want to express my support by putting a yellow ribbon in my blog.

We can’t always be the best, but we can always keep on getting better.

Season Starter. New chapter… A new beginning that is full of hope… Forgetting the negative things from the past and aiming to become a better person.

Better person… people do change so let us give everybody a chance to change for the better, though first impressions last almost all the time. We also tend to look more on a person’s mistakes rather than the good things he have done. We all commit mistakes and we learn from them. We will never learn without them. They give us wisdom as we grow older. We don’t learn everything from the book, but we can continuously improve our knowledge and what we love doing.

Let us become the better next that we are!

My random thoughts for tonight…

1. I thought of my most used social networking and blogging sites that I’ve been using as of the moment, and I came up with this list: WordPress (for my blog), HelloTXT (for my Life Stream), Facebook (to connect me with my friends), and Plinky (for random questions).

2. The Transformers movie has excellent visual effects, but most of the opinions I heard from others find the story a little bit disappointing.

3. Out of curiosity, I watched “Villa Estrella” with my friends. It was scary at first, but the story got a little bit boring as the movie reaches its climax.

It still makes me happy that I am now doing my 401st blog entry. This gives me a f eeling of having a new beginning again. New beginnings always bring the feeling that you are becoming a stronger and a better person.

I remember before, I had a fear of having my blog read by my relatives. As much as possible, I only want my friends and online friends read my blog. But we know that technology is making the world smaller and smaller. And now, you can just connect to all people you know, as well as connect your blog, life stream accounts, and social networking sites into just one site, particularly Facebook.

I suddenly realized that all of us have his/her own opinions and we should never be ashamed of it. It maybe wrong and it maybe right, but opinions are opinions. Sometimes, sharing your opinions will make you realize if it is right or wrong. We just need to be open minded. Different and contrasting opinions really do exist. It’s up to you what to believe in.

I also realized lately that we really can’t please everyone. Well, I realized this fact many times already in the past but sometimes, it is really just depressing when people won’t get to like you. Of course, I know some of us would want the people around us to like us, but of course that would be a very hard thing to do. Sometimes, we just keep on pleasing those people, though there are times when all we can say is “If you don’t like me, then don’t. I don’t like you either”.

Well, a friend hasn’t been replying to all our text messages lately. I want to ask him, “What’s the problem? Are you really that busy that you can’t even answer us with a simple yes or no. If you really don’t want to communicate, then I assume  you are irritated by our messages. Okay, then I’ll stop communicating with you”. Of course, friend are friends. I know I can’t afford to hate a friend for a long time but sometimes, things happen that cause misunderstanding. But I care, and I will always care.

Happiness… We know and we feel what makes us happy. We just need to follow our hearts. I am afraid of blaming myself in the end when I just let myelf my happiness go. But of course, we should also take into consideration others’ feelings.

Oh well, lots of realizations recently and I am happy that this new start really made me hopeful for better things to come.
