400th Entry: The Best of Rowjielogy Vol. 3

The Best of Rowjielogy Vol. 3This is my 400th blog entry here in my blog and I know my fellow bloggers understand the feeling of reaching this “so-called milestone”. Haha.

Well, I find this a nice way to jumpstart this new month/third quarter of the year/second half of the year. Well, I want to be positive as we start the second half of this year. And as usual, I always try to view my archive and look for my favorite posts. For Volume 3, I looked for my favorite posts from entry #300-399.

What I mean with “the best of Rowjielogy”, is a collection of my favorite entries.

Woah. It seems like only yesterday when I posted those blog entries and I am amazed how fast time passed by. But definitely, looking back to past blog entries make me feel good, inspired, and full of hope for better and happier things to come!

Keep On Moving

I have tried opening and updating my curriculum vitae/résumé again yesterday. Well, it definitely means that I opened myself again to possible opportunities that might come to me. Well, no plans of resignation yet, but I am just now open to the thought of grabbing a better opprotunities if it will be given to me.

I went to job searh engines again and looked at the current job openings. It gave me the thought of getting out of what I know as of the moment, and try to learn new things.

A friend of mine at work has resigned and it actually makes me feel bad. But when I thought about it, it’s her choice and she already know what she’s doing. If she thinks she made the right decision, then I support her for that.

While we were eating our lunch today, someone said that he thinks that I got a big amount of savings in my bank account. Well… that’s my wish! Haha. I still got to pay some debts. But I am happy that I can still save little by little. And then another one said, “He has a goal in life”. I suddenly stopped and asked myself… “Goal? What is my goal in life?”.

Those thoughts are actually on my mind right now. But I am sure that I want to keep on moving forward…

Mobile Thoughts #1

First of all, welcome to Mobile Thoughts, where I’ll be posting short random ideas using my mobile phone. I really hope that I can do this everyday. Anyway, my random thoughts for today…

1. Michael Jackson’s death is still in the headlines. I feel sad when I hear his songs played on the radio and when I see his music videos on MTV.

2. I have watched “The Transformers” with my college friends. The effects are great. The story is just fine. I’ll be making a review of the movie soon.

3. I had a flu shot yesterday and I am feeling its side effects. I suddenly had mild colds and I felt a little dizzy this morning.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

Source: CNN.com

Source: CNN.com

I had some thoughts of Michael Jacson for the past few days. First, when I answered a prompt in Plinky asking “Whose famous people did I see in real life?” (Click here). I answered Michael Jackson. I feel very lucky to see him when he had a concert here in the Philippines in 1996. I actually did not watch his concert but I saw him when he went to a public hospital in Parañaque. He waved at the people outside from the second floor of the building.

Second, on my way home the other day, the bus was playing his concert on TV. We can’t really help but watch his outstanding performances. I am not actually a huge fan of MJ but I really consider him as an icon, inspite of all the controversies about him. His talent is one of a kind and his songs are classics. Some people even cry when they see MJ performs live.

For him to be called the “King of Pop” means he has the same level of respect from people like Elvis Presley, Madonna, The Beatles, etc.

That’s why I am really shocked after hearing the news that he already passed away at the age of 50. He is such a big loss in the music industry, but I know that he will always be remembered and his music will live forever.

Goodbye Michael! Thank you for your music that inspired all of us.

We Can Talk About It

Let's drink to that!

Let's drink to that!

One of the things that I look forward to whenever I meet my friends is staying somewhere we can talk after having our dinner. We would usually go in a coffee shop, though we have also tried staying in an ice cream bar. Well, for me, I don’t care much on the place just as long as the place is comfortable and perfect for conversations.

Well, me and my friends would usually talk about what’s been happening to our lives recently, then we’ll talk about our high school memories until we all laugh about it. I should say that those stories are already “classic” because we keep on talking about them all over again, but still, we can’t avoid laughing about all those things.

Well, we just talk about anything that comes into our minds – revelations of past secrets, frustrations, problems, good news, etc.

These conversations actually make me feel good and realize a lot of things. One of the reasons is that I am now able to talk some things which I can’t before. It’s nice to feel that at least we have grown up and we already have a sense of maturity. Also, I feel that I am not ashamed to tell stories about my frustrations and mistakes because I am with the people who share their stories of frustrations and mistakes as well.

I just hate it that time is running fast that’s why we have to cut our conversation and leave the place already. But even though the time was short, it still makes me thank the people whom I had a conversation. It’s just nice to know that an effortless talking can make someone else thankful for it.

So the next time someone would invite me over to have a cup of coffee, I am 90% sure that I would join them. Well, I am really not after where we’ll go, but I would really be after the conversation while drinking a cup of coffee, or even eating a scoop of ice cream.
