In 2007, one city decided to take a stand against climate change. 2.2 million people across sydney switched off their lights for an event that would become known across the world as Earth Hour.

In 2008, the simple belief in small actions which created earth hour, went global. 50 million people switched off their lights in the secon year in 400 cities around the world, as a symbol of hope for the future of our planet.

In 2009, the symbol of switching off the lights united the planet. On March 28th 2009, the people of the world made their voice heard.

Over 4000 cities across 88 countries took part.
18 of the G20 countries took part.
34 of the world’s C40 cities took part.

Earth Hour reached over 1 billion people worldwide. Earth Hour has shown that the issue of climate change is not about what country you’re from, it’s about what planet you’re from.

Sa palagay ko, ang kanyang TV ad ang nagkaroon ng pinakamalaking impact sa mga Pilipino. Marami ang nakisabay sa kantang ito, at marami rin namang tumaligsa at gumaya sa TV ad na ito.

Ako ay nakatira sa Cavite kaya noon pa lamang ay kilala ko na si Manny Villar mula noong congressman pa lamang siya ng Las Piñas. Humanga naman ako sa nagawa niya sa Las Piñas.

Sa pamamagitan naman ng video na ito, ay ating alamin ang vision ni Villar para sa Pilipinas.
